Have your students build and fly drones with the Drone Builder Kit!
The Drone Maker Kit gives you a system for designing, building, and flying your drone! This customizable kit enables students to work through the engineering design process to iterate their own drone design.
With the included engineer-focused curriculum, students work through activities to design and test their drone, carry a payload, and design and implement a delivery system, each activity tying back to a specific career connection. Depending on the available time, you can compare different drone system configurations to see how well each solution meets the parameters of a set problem.
This kit brings the ultimate level of engagement while also teaching the basics of engineering and aviation through drone flight. The sky is no longer the limit with drone technology!
No device is required.
Build & fly a drone!
Drone Kit includes:
In this edutainment experience, your students will become engineers for the week, be exposed to great role models, challenge unconscious bias, explore applications of drone technology, understand safety and drone regulations, and learn how to build and fly drones.
What’s Covered?
Module 1 – What is a Drone?
In this module, students will learn what is a drone and what it can be used for. Also, discuss possible career opportunities. |
Module 2 – Drone Safety
In this module, we discuss the different roles and responsibilities of drone pilots, pre-flight safety checks, and using manual controls to fly the microdrones. |
Module 3 – Building Session
In this module, we learn about a drone's electrical components and parts. Students will start building their drones. |
Module 4 – Manual Flight
In this module, we practice manual flight and battery management. The students learn how a drone moves manually and demonstrate competence as a drone pilot to control a microdrone. |
Junior Drone Pilots License Test (Optional)
Students can gain their Junior Drone pilots license by demonstrating they can set up a safe drone flying area, perform all safety checks, safely manually fly a microdrone, and perform coded flight using a microdrone and visual programming. |
How does it work?
A Certified Drone instructor will come to your school or organization to run each 1-hour experience for one day. This program is an indoor program, we will bring all the drone equipment with us, and all we require to run the program is an ample indoor space such as a school hall or gym.
The price here is for one full-day session. Each session can cater for a class of 30 to 60 students.
