Providing drone instruction for our students in grades 5 through 8 has been great! The teachers and support they provide has provided a hands-on experience for our students...
You can, yes! The CoDrone EDU is designed so that almost all parts of the drone can be replaced, including propellers, motors, even the frame itself. You can find replacement parts in our store. The only parts that aren't replaceable is the internals boards and the bottom chassis of the drone.
If you're coding in Blockly, you can use either a Chromebook, a macOS like a MacBook, or a Windows computer. They will need to have USB ports to connect to the controller. You can check out our lesson on how to set that up. Unfortunately, the CoDrone EDU is not compatible with iPads or tablets. If you're coding in Python, you can code on a macOS device or a Windows device.
Yes! CoDrone EDU was developed specifically as a tool for the classroom to teach drones and programming. CoDrone EDU is safe, durable, and easy to use. It has durable guards to protect people and other objects from spinning propellers and a sturdy frame that can withstand drops and crashes. You can read about the durability here. Radio frequency communication ensures stable connections in a classroom with multiple drones. For teachers and educators, there are free lessons and lesson plans available on Basecamp.
CoDrone EDU was designed with the classroom in mind. Flexible guards can absorb impacts and protect people and objects from damage. However, like any product, it is also not indestructible! CoDrone EDU can still sustain damage from regular wear and tear, or improper use such as crashing intentionally or falling from heights greater than 10ft. Head here to learn more about durability.
Yes! We have professional development right here.
Yes, the CoDrone EDU is 889-compliant. Head over to this article to learn more about what that means, and check out the supporting documents.
